What is salvation? What is the Christian doctrine of salvation?

Question: “What is salvation? What is the Christian doctrine of salvation?”

Answer: Salvation is deliverance from danger or suffering. To save is to deliver or protect. The word carries the idea of victory, health, or preservation. Sometimes, the Bible uses the words saved or salvation to refer to temporal, physical deliverance, such as Paul’s deliverance from prison (Philippians 1:19).

More often, the word “salvation” concerns an eternal, spiritual deliverance. When Paul told the Philippian jailer what he must do to be saved, he was referring to the jailer’s eternal destiny (Acts 16:30-31). Jesus equated being saved with entering the kingdom of God (Matthew 19:24-25).

What are we saved from? In the Christian doctrine of salvation, we are saved from “wrath,” that is, from God’s judgment of sin (Romans 5:9; 1 Thessalonians 5:9). Our sin has separated us from God, and the consequence of sin is death (Romans 6:23). Biblical salvation refers to our deliverance from the consequence of sin and therefore involves the removal of sin.

Who does the saving? Only God can remove sin and deliver us from sin’s penalty (2 Timothy 1:9; Titus 3:5).

How does God save? In the Christian doctrine of salvation, God has rescued us through Christ (John 3:17). Specifically, it was Jesus’ death on the cross and subsequent resurrection that achieved our salvation (Romans 5:10; Ephesians 1:7). Scripture is clear that salvation is the gracious, undeserved gift of God (Ephesians 2:5, 8) and is only available through faith in Jesus Christ (Acts 4:12).

How do we receive salvation? We are saved by faith. First, we must hear the gospel—the good news of Jesus’ death and resurrection (Ephesians 1:13). Then, we must believe—fully trust the Lord Jesus (Romans 1:16). This involves repentance, a changing of mind about sin and Christ (Acts 3:19), and calling on the name of the Lord (Romans 10:9-10, 13).

A definition of the Christian doctrine of salvation would be “The deliverance, by the grace of God, from eternal punishment for sin which is granted to those who accept by faith God’s conditions of repentance and faith in the Lord Jesus.” Salvation is available in Jesus alone (John 14:6; Acts 4:12) and is dependent on God alone for provision, assurance, and security

Watch this typical liberal explain why murdering a two-year-old infant is perfectly acceptable to leftists

Many abortion advocates try to spin their support for murdering unborn babies in the womb by claiming that it’s all about a “woman’s choice.” But the pro-death abortion cult […]

For You formed my inward parts; You covered me in my mother’s womb. I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Marvelous are Your works, And that my soul knows very well. My frame was not hidden from You, When I was made in secret, And skillfully wrought in the lowest parts of the earth. Your eyes saw my substance, being yet unformed. And in Your book they all were written, The days fashioned for me, When as yet there were none of them.”
‭‭Psalms‬ ‭139:13-16‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

You made all the delicate, inner parts of my body and knit me together in my mother’s womb. Thank you for making me so wonderfully complex! Your workmanship is marvelous—how well I know it. You watched me as I was being formed in utter seclusion, as I was woven together in the dark of the womb. You saw me before I was born. Every day of my life was recorded in your book. Every moment was laid out before a single day had passed.
Psalms 139:13‭-‬16

Don’t Be Fooled by the CULT of Jesusanity!

A different gospel. Thank you Geri.

Absolute Truth from the Word of God

Oh yes, brothers and sisters in Christ – we are so close to the end!

But when this demonic cult asks “Father, is it Time Yet?”  they are speaking to their father, the devil.

Jesusanity is the New Age movement on Steroids!

Now as He sat on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to Him privately, saying, “Tell us, when will these things be? And what will be the sign of Your coming, and of the end of the age?”

And Jesus answered and said to them: “Take heed that no one deceives you. For many will come in My name, saying, ‘I am the Christ,’ and will deceive many. And you will hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not troubled; for all  these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. For nation…

Beware of Catholic Charities – 10 Tips for Choosing Christian Charities

Catholic charities are the #1 sponsor of illegal immigration into the USA (and other nations). They have even converted what used to be Catholic churches into Islamic mosques.

Provided in this article is a checklist of 10 things to look for prior to donating. These tips can help you find out if the organization is actually sharing the gospel (or not). Some considerations we may have easily overlooked.  But once we recognize the trickery used by some organizations, we can make more informed choices, especially if we desire for the funds we send to be used to primarily share the gospel with the lost. Living Waters Europe – The Whole Nine Yards

RayComfortIf you listen to most modern preachers, they will tell you how God can help you. He’s your friend and He’s there for your happiness. He has a wonderful plan for your life. However, with a spiraling world economy, the increase in global disasters, wars, unstoppable diseases, massive floods, hurricanes, tornadoes, droughts, tsunamis, and escalating violence, it’s not so easy to make the promise of a bliss-filled future for those who respond to the gospel.

Words mean different things to different people. While some preachers would say that a “wonderful” plan means that God will be with us in the lion’s den, they don’t mention the lions, and so they are disillusioned the first time a lion looks at them as lunch. God isn’t portrayed in Scripture as some sort of divine butler who comes at the beck and call of humanity. There’s no promise of perfect happiness in this life. The Christian life is rather portrayed as the opposite. The Bibles promises tribulation, temptation and persecution for those who live a godly life in this sinful world.

Consequently, skeptics are right when they say that the church is filled with hypocrites—those whose lives don’t reflect what we know they should. And our…

12-hour Prayer Event for the Persecuted Church – Saturday July 29

Why Pray for the Persecuted Church?
Because we love Jesus and we love our persecuted brothers and sisters.  A simple enough answer to a straightforward question.  1 Corinthians 16:13-14 exhorts us to,
••• Be on the alert, stand firm in the faith, act like men. Be strong. Let all that you do be done in love.•••
Those followers of Jesus in nations hostile to the gospel are willing to lay down their lives for Him.  They do so, but not out of obligatory command. These believers are willing to lay all down for Him because they love Him.  They love Him because He loved them first ( 1 John 4:19).
Our persecuted brothers and sisters have had an experience with Jesus.  They have come to realize that Jesus is worth suffering for. They see the incredible love that Jesus showed by His sacrifice for them.  For Jesus…

Unbelief Is A Cancer To The Soul :: By Grant Phillips – Rapture Ready

The Church age, the Age of Grace, is all about “belief,” not just a superficial casual belief, but a belief that reaches to the soul and cries out to God. The Bible speaks of real authentic belief in the Son of God, Jesus Christ, as the only means of being saved from God’s judgment. Jesus […]

Dear reader,

As my very first blog post, I would like to share with you some thoughts on “Time” and “Eternity”.

Time ticks away mercilessly.   We get up in the morning and plan all the things we want to accomplish for the day.  But by day’s end  we usually find that things did not go as planned. The unexpected happened and time run out.  All the things we planned to do did not get done. Yikes!

Tomorrow is another day, right?, there is always tomorrow to catch up with what we did not have time to do today.

BUT!  what about moments we can never retrieve?, things  we miss doing today, things  we may not have a “tomorrow” opportunity to do them, what happens then?Ah yes!!, regrets come flooding in, even guilt and always a restless mind.

Allow me dear reader  to share one of my personal regrets.

I did not have time to paint my mother’s nails this particular Saturday when I went to visit her at the nursing home. She wanted to look nice for my step-dad when he came to spend time with her, and so she asked me to paint her finger nails, her hands skinny and bruised from the many needles that had been inserted during her visits  at the hospital. She felt unattractive, some nail polish would make it better.

My husband and I were on our way to a work Christmas dinner that afternoon , so I promised to return the next day and do her nails.

I had my priorities wrong,  very wrong, I thought I had time you see, but  before I returned the next day, my mum went into a coma and a few days after she passed away.

The tomorrow I had promised my mum never came.  You and I only have the present to make the right choices, tomorrow is not  yet ours and yesterday is already too late.

Time is ticking away dear reader. We begin a new year and before we know it we are celebrating Christmas, really???

Time is ticking away, the only time we have to make the right decisions, the right choices is TODAY.  Do not waste your todays, dear one,  they are precious, more precious than gold.  The decisions that you make today can have a tremendous impact in all your tomorrows and all the way to Eternity.

As time ticks away allow me to expand on Eternity.  What is Eternity?, the dictionary on my IPad describes Eternity as “Infinite or unending time”, “Timelessness” and “A state to which time has no application”, in other words, Eternity is forever.

The Bible teaches that we are more than just a human body. It teaches that we are living souls, created by God to live eternally.

Do good people go to Heaven when they die?, If a person dies and truly is a good and righteous person, then he is assured of an eternity in Heaven,  There is just one problem though, the Bible makes it quite clear that there are no inherently good people. In Romans 3:10 we read “THERE IS NONE RIGHTEOUS, NO NOT ONE”.

Really?, there are no good people to be found anywhere you ask?, what about so and so, well by human standards we would be able to find many good people.

The problem though, lies in the fact that God does not judge us by human standards. He judges us by His.  What exactly are those standards you ask?, they are very simply the 10 Commandments. If a person could live by all the 10 Commandments perfectly throughout his life, then he would indeed be a good person by God’s standards and be assured of an eternity in Heaven.

Dear reader God does not overlook our sin, The Bible teaches that the wages of sin is death.  This death is a spiritual death and results in eternal separation from God. Please understand dear reader, that this eternal death is not just missing out on Heaven, it is eternal conscious suffering in a very real place the Bible calls hell. Sin has eternal consequences because it is committed against an eternal God.  Once a person enter hell, there are no second chances, no purgatory,  that persons fate is eternally and tragically sealed.

The good news.

God does not want you to go to hell. He loves you enough to have provided a Way of escape.  His name is Jesus Christ, the only begotten Son of the living God. Jesus came to earth as fully God and fully man, and was the only one to have ever lived a perfect sinless life.  Jesus then willingly laid down His life for us by dying on a Roman cross. He was crucified to pay the penalty of your sins and mine. He became the offering for our sins and therefore satisfied the demands of God’s justice.

On the third day something AMAZING happened. God raised Jesus from the dead. The bodily resurrection testifies to the deity of Jesus.

Jesus and Jesus alone can secure escape from Hell and an eternity in Heaven.

Time is ticking away.

What you decide about Jesus dear one, will determine where you will spend Eternity.  We are forgiven when we realise we are sinners in need of saving.

Are you ready dear reader, to forsake your sins and surrender completely to The Lord Jesus Christ today ?

Time is ticking away.

Do not wait till tomorrow,  you only have TODAY to call on the name of Jesus.

Tomorrow may just be too late.  Time is ticking away.CLOCK

Rejoice, He is risen and Love has won!

Through the sacrifice and resurrection of Jesus, God has redeemed us and calls us his children. May God bless us with great joy. Through Christ, we have been saved by grace, our chains have been broken and we now have freedom. Father, lead us and help us to resist temptation, to be united with Christ and life eternal in Your presence. O God bless us, in the name of the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Amen and Amen. Have a very blessed Easter Sunday remembering all the Lord has done and accomplished. Rejoice, the victory is won, LOVE wins!

5 Who Tried to Stop [Christ’s True Mission]… and Failed

Ecce Homo (“Behold the Man”), Antonio Ciseri’s depiction of Pilate presenting a scourged Jesus to the people of Jerusalem. Created: between circa 1860 and circa 1880

Have you ever thought about how many people tried to stop Jesus’ life, death and resurrection, whether for good or bad? Some wanted Jesus dead, and they thought His words were blasphemous. Others looked out for their own interest and rule, but there were some who wanted to protect Jesus—and they were distraught at His death. But God is sovereign over all, and He knew the path that His Son must follow in order to save mankind once and for all. Here are 5 who tried to stop Jesus’ life, death, or resurrection and failed according to God’s plan: read more

Hitler Also Used Children to Promote Gun Confiscation in Germany

Absolute Truth from the Word of God

Remember when Barack Obama surrounded himself with ‘hand picked’ children as he signed a bill for stronger gun control measures after the Sandy Hook massacre? He took that directly out of Hitler’s playbook from 1939 when he was promoting gun confiscation for the so-called  protection of the children.

Please always remember that it is of paramount importance to dictators, tyrants and now to the NWO proponents, to disarm an entire country in order to take full control.

I have said this before in many of my articles:

“The only thing standing in the way of a One World Government is a Strong America.”

Today’s gun control and confiscation rally was nothing new. Nazis and leftists have been using children for decades in their attempts to take guns away from law abiding citizens.

Pastor Bill Randles Blog

O give thanks unto the Lord; for he is good: because his mercy endureth for ever. Let Israel now say, that his mercy endureth for ever.  Let the house of Aaron now say, that his mercy endureth for ever.  Let them now that fear the Lord say, that his mercy endureth for ever.(Psalm 118:1-4)

Nigeria (Morning Star News) – Crestfallen, the 48-year-old Christian sat in his house in Miango, central Nigeria, where three of his children were killed a week before.

“These series of attacks have been carried out against us Christians in this area for some time now by these armed herdsmen, and we don’t know precisely why they are doing this to us,” Joseph Gah Nze told Morning Star News. “In spite of these attacks on us, what I can is that we are dependent on God for grace to overcome these challenges. We have no other option than to pray, seeking the face of God, and for these herdsmen to come to know Jesus Christ, as it is only when they know Jesus that they can stop attacking us Christians.”
